Happy New Year! I am not making resolutions this year, instead I am jumping on the #MyOneWord band wagon. Twitter opened the idea up and I have decided to run with it. Why one word? The idea is that #MyOneWord will help inspire me, guide me, and at times narrow my choices. I have spent a great deal of time over winter break thinking about what #MyOneWord should be for 2015.
The process of picking a word was interesting and I encourage you to try and select a word. I brainstormed words and tried to think about the choices that the words on my list could push me towards. At first it seemed that there were many words that I could pick to be my #MyOneWord. As the break went on and I continued to think I came up with my #MyOneWord. I didn’t pick it though...it seemed to pick me!
The following quote came across my Twitter feed and all of a sudden I had my word.

Why "grow"? Looking back over the years I see a trend. I love to learn new things yet I tend to learn more about things I already know about. So #MyOneWord is a challenge to grow and learn where I am not comfortable both personally and professionally.
As I make my way through 2015, my hope is to focus on how new ideas, opportunities, and challenges can help me grow and change into the best me I can be.
